Weekly Entertainment Roundup 1.21.25

Okay- last Tuesday I skipped this post. My dog Spencer had started to get really dizzy and sick and unfortunately he is no longer with us. I miss him so much- but he was not himself the last few days and I know that now he’s not in any pain.

So I will do a quick roundup from last week- just with the movie charts.

Jan 10- 12

1- Den of Theives: Pantera

This is a bit of a shock to me- I’ve never heard of this movie- but it’s a sequel. Wasn’t expecting it to get to number 1 its first week at the box office- but I guess it is the first new big movie out. It’s grossed 16Million this week.

2. Mufasa The Lion King

This is its 4th week at the box office. It’s made 189 million total gross and 13 million this week.

3. Sonic The Hedgehog 3

This is the 4th week on the charts and its total gross is 205 million with a weekly gross of 11 Million.

4. Nosferatu

3rd week at the box office. It made 82Million total and 6.8 million this week.

5. Moana 2

With 7 weeks at the box office this has made 435million total and 6.5 million this week.

6. Wicked

My favorite movie of 2024- possibly of all time and it’s been out for 8 weeks with 459 million total at the box office and 5 million this week. They rereleased a sing along screening I think- So that’s probably why this has been staying strong.

7. A Complete UnKnown

This is the third week at the box office and it has 51 million total and 5 million this week.

8. Babygirl

This has been at the box office for 3 weeks and so far it’s made 22 million with 3.1 million this week.

9. Game Changer

This is this movies first week at the box office and it’s made 2.1 million total so far.

10. The Last Showgirl

This was just released widely after being at the box office for 5 weeks total and its grossed 1.5 million.

Box office Weekend January 17- 19th

Okay now for this week!

1) One of Them Days

I’m a little surprised at this one! I think the trailer looked good but I forgot about it and haven’t really seen much about it since then. I’m a little surprised this out performed Wolf Man but after seeing Wolf

Man I’m not really surprised at all.

This made 12 million over the weekend and the total gross was 14 million. 1st week on the chart.

2) Mufasa: The Lion King

Okay I’m also a little surprised this is still holding on strong at the box office. This also made 12 million this week and it’s been at the box office for 5 weeks now with a total gross of 210 million.

3) Wolf Man

Okay this is the movie I saw this week! I was not too fond of it- but it made 11 million this weekend and 12 million total- I’m guessing there were some early releases for this one.

4) Sonic The Hedgehog 3

I’m excited that this is releasing on digital soon I’ve heard it’s pretty good. This has been at the box office for 5 weeks and it’s total gross is 219 million- so it’s made a little more than Mufasa overall. This week it made 8.6 million

5) Den of Theives: Pantera

Okay last week’s number 1 fell quite a bit. It made 6.6 million this week and 27 million total in its 2 weeks on the charts.

6) Moana 2

Okay Moana still doing pretty well after 8 weeks at the box office. This weekend it made 6.1 million and the total gross is 445 million.

7) Nosferatu

Okay one of my favorite movies I’ve seen recently! Nosferatu made 4.3 million this weekend and 90 million total. This has been out for 4 weeks.

8) A Complete Unknown

This is one id like to see but I haven’t yet. This has been out for 4 weeks and has a total gross of 58 million. This week it made 3.8 million. I don’t know a lot about Bob Dylan- but I like Timothee Chalamet!

9) Wicked

Another one I’ve seen and loved! Wicked! This has been out for 9 weeks and it’s made 466 million total- 3.6 million this week.

10) Babygirl

Alright this Nicole Kidman movie that looks pretty good has been out for 4 weeks and it made 2 million this weekend and 26 million total. I’d like to see this movie but there’s a lot of movies out.. I’m not sure about it!

Coming This Friday

I’m so excited that Flight Risk is releasing on Friday. This looks so good and so suspenseful. There’s also a Thriller callled Presence starring Lucy Liu and Julia Fox releasing this weekend- although I guess it was previously released in 2024. It looks like there’s a few rereleases or wide releases this week because everything says it’s from 2024 or 2023 on it.

Next week I will likely have a Movie Monday for Flight Risk!

TV

It looks like there’s all new shows this week on all the networks- except on Monday night because of the inauguration. There is still one more week till my favorite CBS shows return. That is the Thursday night lineup of Ghosts, Matlock and Elsbeth.

Music

I finally listened to Bad Bunny’s album- although I didn’t listen to the whole thing. It was very good! Apparently it’s very emotional and nostalgic for the people of Puerto Rico. There are no other releases I recognize.

What I’m watching

I finished My Name is Earl- and I’ll have a full review of that soon. Right now I’m going between Always Sunny and Raising Hope. And also probably Bob’s Burgers.
