Unhinged Radio Dj?

Okay- so my day started with my car ride to work at around 8:40 today… and the radio was playing Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham… which was amazing. I love my late cousin George Michael and that song in the morning is probably the best song by chance that you can hear in the morning. I texted my boyfriend (don’t worry- my dad was driving don’t text and drive!) “wow my days going to be great because the radio is playing Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.” Which I KNEW HE WOULD BE JEALOUS OF because he gets it. That’s the best song to hear on the radio on your way to work… ESPECIALLY by chance on the radio!
So what do you think they choose to follow up this amazing wonderful morning song? Out of all the songs in the world… which one do you think they played… they chose to play Billy Joel… and not just any Billy Joel song… they played We Didn’t Start The Fire.
I go back and forth on my feelings about Billy Joel… he’s a very polarizing singer… I kind of like his singing but I don’t always like his songs… BUT We didn’t Start The Fire is just words… I like history and I get how people think it’s interesting from a historical perspective… but a lot of it is just names. And it’s totally jarring to hear it right in the morning as the second song you hear ever!
And that’s a long song- so I only heard one other song on the way to work. And that song was Sweet Fantasy by Mariah Carey. Which is a great song… but like- how does that fit with these other songs? How is that the finale of my very short work commute???? How am I supposed to listen to retail pop, country and R&B all day after ALL THAT!
So yeah I will do my only murders in the building recap tomorrow… it was a really good episode I don’t want to rush it while I’m so tired and all that radio stuff happened.
Also going to note: last week when I was going in they played U2 twice in the short commute… and another time was the worst… I found out that Guns and Roses has a cover of Live and Let Die… and it’s just as awful as you might think it is.
Bye!
