Shannon’s Adventures: New Year’s Eve with Friends

So my adventure this week was my New Year's Eve Outing with my boyfriend and some of his friends.

So I got out of work at 6... and I wore pretty sparkly pants and a black top. After I got out- My boyfriend picked me up driving the Party Bus and we decided to eat at a Thai place. It sounded good to us and it had vegetarian and vegan friendly options for our vegetarian friend. Plus it was close to where I work and we had never been there before.

I ordered the Pad Thai, I also had a Thai Iced Tea- which is always a favorite of mine, and we had some appetizers that I don't remember the names of exactly. So after we got the Thai food- we headed to my boyfriends house to all watch the movie Saltburn together. My boyfriend and I had just watched it a few days before and we were dying to watch it a second time- and only one of his friends had seen the movie already.

This is kind of a disturbing movie and... it's a blast to watch with friends- although it can be super awkward at times. Plus there are things I noticed this time watching it vs when I watched it last time. This movie is a very dark comedy and one of the best satire movies of all time.

Anyway after we watched that it was almost midnight- so we watched a short animae and then turned on the Hulu Live show of the New Years Eve Ball dropping. That was fun- we all saw Paul Anka with some young blonde and I said "I don't think that's his daughter" because his daughter is married to Jason Bateman. Then he kissed her and we said "wow I hope that's not his daughter!"

And then after that- I don't know how we got sparklers but somehow we acquired sparklers. I asked my boyfriend who got them and he said "that's a good question" and we were all very cautious with them and... it seemed like we were all scared. Here's some pictures of the last time I used sparklers:

This time I was a little less scared. Actually I kind of had fun with it and I would do it again. Not at my wedding... but I would do it again.

After that we had a car ride to take everyone back to their house/ cars and then we drove back to my house. None of us live close together- so this is like a small tour of New Jersey to get everywhere... but we made it and we spent the end of 2023 and the start of 2024 in good company!

That's everything! Here's to more adventures... and maybe some challenges in 2024!

Bye!

-Shannon
