Shannon’s Adventures: A Perfect Day at Smithville’s Mayfest!

So twice a year I go to Smithville for their Mayfest and their Oktoberfest-and this Mayfest was really great! I found some great things and I had a really great time!

I usually take the weekend off of work and then my friend that I go with and I decide which day has better weather. This time it was rainy on Saturday- so we went on Sunday and it was not busy in the morning which was kind of unbelievable! There’s always such a wait for the restaurant we go to-Fred and Ethel’s- but this time we got RIGHT in!

Anyway, it seemed like there were less vendors than usual and less of the stores putting out stuff which was a little sad- there’s someone that does really cool laser cut things and I haven’t seen her the last couple times I’ve gone- but I do have her Etsy and Instagram- but I’m not sure she’s active anymore so that’s a bummer. Maybe she is- but I haven’t seen her.

There was a lot of 3D printed stuff that all looked the same. There were a lot of food vendors. There were a few jewelry and t shirt vendors there. I like the vendor ShinyHappyDangles- their jewelry is chain mail inspired and there’s a lot of cute flowery things. I got a cool ring and a necklace.

I also really like the stores Fairest Of Then All and Trendie Treasures. Fairest of them all had these cool knit ponchos- and I was like “you know I’ll try this on” and I really liked it. They also had some one sized tank tops that I really liked too. I feel like I should have bought more colors of the poncho things. I’ll probably do an OOTD sometime soon cause I’ve got a cute outfit on now from there.

And Fred And Ethel’s had margaritas and they were really really good. I had a watermelon one and my friend had a mango one… it was great! Would definitely want to make those again and get their margaritas again.

Overall really nice day with my friend and they had some great stuff!
