Okay- again I had to rank the movies I watched for this challenge… which was hard because these were just random movies I watched and I enjoyed all of them for the most part but there were definitely some favorites. I’m going to start at the bottom because I don’t have much to say about the movies.
30. Oz: The Great and Powerful
I love The Wizard of Oz- which you’ll be able to tell at the end of this list… but this was the worst way to retell the movie and the worst movie I watched for this challenge.
29: Home For The Holidays
This wasn’t a bad movie- I just don’t think it aged that well and I wouldn’t watch it again.
28. Knowing
This just wasn’t that interesting- but I do appreciate Nicholas Cage as an actor so this wasn’t too bad.
27. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere
My Grandma’s fridge is in this movie and I recognize most of the landmarks. I thought the performances were good and Bruce Springsteen deserves a biopic- but he isn’t the most interesting subject.
26. You Again
I just don’t like the lack of character development in this one. I would watch it again and it’s pretty funny with a great cast but it’s not great.
25. Because I Said So
Again a cute movie I would recommend and probably watch again but it was a little disappointing.
24. Lakeview Terrace
This might be too high on the list… but this was a good thriller and Samuel L Jackson was great in it.
23. Cheaper By The Dozen 2
This was a good sequel but I was a bit disappointed in it.
22. Cheaper By The Dozen
This was a cute and funny movie. There’s a lot of good movies on this list but this was kind of a surprise.
21. Shelby Oaks
I was a little disappointed in this. It wasn’t bad I just think I would have preferred a found footage movie. This felt too familiar.
20. Liar, Liar
I’d be lying if I said this didn’t make me laugh out loud… this was a funny movie. I had never seen it before. I really like Jim Carey in comedies… and this is probably the peak of his physical humor. It didn’t age the best but it’s still worth watching.
19. Thoroughbreds
Good movie- but the characters are kind of unlikable. I guess just Anya Taylor Joy’s character is really unlikable. Worth watching for sure though.
18. Ghost
Controversially low on the list. This movie is a classic for a reason… I just didn’t think it was as romantic as I’ve heard it described.
17. Georgia Rule
This movie is a hidden gem… and it shouldn’t be hidden because I love everyone that’s in the movie. Lindsay Lohan is great, I love Garry Marshall. This was a more serious movie than it looks- but it was really great.
16. City of Angels
This is a similar movie to Ghost… it’s like a romantic somewhat supernatural movie… but I really liked this one. I love seeing Nicholas Cage in a more emotional role where his heart is broken. He does it really well. Meg Ryan was also great and I love Dennis Franz so I was excited to see him in this. I didn’t remember that.
15. Phantom Thread
This is a weird movie… but it’s good. It’s kind of a slow burn- I might need to watch it again.
14. Uncle Buck
Who doesn’t love Uncle Buck!?!? I didn’t mention this in my review- but I think one of my favorite parts is when Buck makes the giant pancakes for Macully Culkin’s birthday and his face just gets so excited for it. I’m not sure why that’s my favorite part- but I really liked it.
13. Roofman
I really liked this movie too. I’m upset because I thought it was streaming now but it isn’t. I thought Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst were great in this movie. I kind of like seeing Channing Tatum as a villain or anti- hero… I think he’s a great actor in general and I really liked this movie.
12. You’ve got Mail
Iconic 90s Rom com… love this movie- but I’ve got a lot of good movies on this list! I just did my review on this yesterday too- so I’m glad I didn’t end my reviews on a bad movie!
11. Father of The Bride
This is such a funny movie I can’t believe I’ve never seen it before! I really liked this one!
10. Father of The Bride Part 2
I did prefer the sequel for Father of The Bride. I just thought it was a little funnier. I really loved all the characters in this one and it was adorable.
9. Superman
This year’s Superman movie is great and it was really fun to watch with my parents! I had a lot of fun!
8. Planes, Trains and Automobiles
The day I’m writing this is Thanksgiving and I’m hoping I will watch this movie again today at some point- I think it’s really good!
7. When Harry Met Sally
Great rom com… maybe the best of all time. It was also incredibly funny but also just a nice slow burn romance. This was another first time watch for me and I really liked it.
6. The Exorcist
Another slow burn horror movie… which is genuinely a very emotional movie too. I didn’t really like this the first time I watched it- but this time I really liked it.
5. It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Okay this is usually my favorite of the Charlie Brown Specials- of course it’s in the top 5 for me. I did like another special a little more this watch in particular.
4. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
This one always makes me laugh out loud. I just love when snoopy and Woodstock get the chairs and then when they make all the toast. The animation for this is great- I love the colors. Great little special.
3. Wicked
Never did I think Wicked would not be number 1 on a list… but we’ve got a little competition this year! I love the songs of this movie- I think the cast is perfect in this movie… and I love all the characters so much.
2. Wicked For Good
I loved this movie. It might be recency bias that I prefer this movie to Wicked For Good- but I also saw this right after re-watching The Wizard of Oz and I think this is a little more like The Wizard of Oz and that made me like this part a little bit more. Plus now we have the full story- it’s just really good.
1. The Wizard of Oz
The only movie I can fairly rank above Wicked and Charlie Brown is of course The Wizard of Oz. This is probably the Best movie of All Time because it just is. There’s no better story than this and probably no better characters.
Okay- that’s my ranking of this very strange selection of movies that I’ve watched in October and November. I hope you like this!
Bye!
