A Classic Movie that I haven't seen yet until now- Pretty Woman! This of course stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Richard Gere plays Edward- a single business man with a lot of important events and deals going forward in Beverly Hills and so he hires Vivian (Julia Roberts) who is a prostitute to go with him to these events and keep him company for the week.
Julia Roberts absolutely shines in this movie! She really gives heart to this role and she's very quirky and she's smart and she just kind of fell into this life that she doesn't really want but it is kind of hard for her to get out of... and she seems to like Edward because he doesn't really treat her like she's different than him and he respects her... and at the end of the movie when he does treat her a little bit worse she calls him out on it. Vivian is a really great character and after watching all these romance movies in a row- it's nice to see a really great character like Vivian.
I thought the chemistry between the two felt very natural and the story just felt very realistic and really natural. I feel like there are so many rom coms where the story is so far fetched and kind of forced... this one felt very real and natural. All the characters were really great and memorable. I'm a big fan of character actors and I'm a fan of Gary Marshall movies- so I always get excited to see Hector Alonso who did a great job in this movie. The cast as a whole was really fun and they did a great job.
Overall this was just a fun and funny movie. It was pretty cute- I just liked it!
Bye!
