Movie Monday: The Perfect Lineup of Teen Rom Coms

So I was home from work the other day and I had a little bit of a headache… so I just watched some tv and FreeForm had a good lineup!

It started with Boy Meets World. I was like halfway in the first episode- it was in season 6… which is probably my favorite season- and Shawn and Angela just broke up and they were trying to date other people. Cory, Topanga, Shawn and his date tried to go to a karaoke bar- Angela ended up being there with a date also… but the funniest part is Cory and Topanga singing War by Edwin Star (actually the song was by the temptations- but I believe Cory was singing the Edwin Star version) and it was really funny. Honestly that’s the funniest moment of the series and one of my favorite sitcom moments lol. They played the episode where Shawn’s dad died after that- which was sad but still had a lot of funny and sweet moments.

After that… I saw what looked to be the opening of a teen movie and I got excited… my ibuprofen had to kick in so I was ready to sit around and watch a teen movie and they happened to be playing a personal favorite of mine: John Tucker Must Die. And honestly- the tv version is better than the theatrical release. There was use of the R-Slur, the locker room chant John and his buddies did… it was good to have a revised version of the movie… it was better that way.

Okay so my headache was going away- I also cleaned out my ears because I thought that might have been the cause of the headache… John Tucker ended and the girls got their revenge… and it looked like another teen movie was on… and I was a little more excited about this one because it looked familiar and it just happened to be one of the best movies ever made… 10 Things I Hate About You. I loveee this movie, it’s got a young Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Gabrielle Union. Ohhh and David Krumholtz… it’s a great movie overall and I was really excited to watch it again for the first time in years! This is a retelling of Taming of the Shrew… love this movie.

After that they had Ferris Bueller- but I was feeling a lot better and getting ready to go out to dinner with my boyfriend. So I didn’t end up watching Ferris- although I don’t think I’ve ever seen the whole movie before.

Anyway- that was my headache-y teen movie and tv marathon. It was fun watching the movies again!

Bye!

-Shannon
