Movie Monday: Santa Movies vs Regular Christmas Movies

Okay... so this year I've realized the importance of The Santa Movie- plus I've realized what Santa movies I like the best and why I feel like I like Regular Christmas Movies so much and... what the difference is between the two.

So I was a teenager in the 2000's and back then they released all sorts of Christmas Movies. The Santa Clause 2 and 3, The Polar Express, Love Actually, The Holiday, Elf of corse, Four Christmases, I think Arthur Christmas and Fred Clause were released around then... there were tons of Christmas Movies released in theaters before streaming became so popular... and it was great.

So the Santa Movie were the types of movies that when I was maybe getting older and not really sure if I should still believe in Santa or not... this convinced me that Santa was real for sure. Seeing how The North Pole Works and that it all made sense just made it obvious to me that Santa really was real.

I personally prefer the live action Santa movie to the animated Santa movie. To me- the animated ones just don't seem as real. The Polar Express is a movie a lot of people love... and it's just not as magical as a live action Santa movie to me. Same thing with Arthur Christmas- I tried watching it and it was okay... but I prefer The Santa Clause and Elf and even something like Klaus... I prefer a live action Santa movie. That's just how I personally picture The North Pole.

The exception to this rule is probably that I do love the Rankin Bass Santa Movies a lot and I try to watch them every year... but I think Rankin Bass were the first ones to show us what The North Pole was like and that's where some of the other movies got inspiration from too.

So as much as I love Santa Movies- regular Christmas movies that don't necessarily mention Santa are also really good. I love movies like Home Alone and Home Alone 2, The Grinch is sort of in between a Santa Movie and a regular Christmas movie... still magical. And I like the rom coms I mentioned before, love actually and the holiday. Those are great too. I can watch those just about any time of year.

Home Alone I think is a little bit more magical than the other non-Santa Christmas movies just because it's so funny plus the music is really good and the second one takes place in New York and New York is fun at Christmas.

Anyway those are my thoughts on Christmas Movies. Also I love most Christmas Carols... not so much the Jim Carey one - but... I like Muppets, I like Mr. magoo, Mickey, flinstones, I'm watching the Alister Sim one now, I liked the edgy one that was on FX a few years ago... it's a good story. I don't like Scrooged that much though- But I like A Christmas Carol.

So yeah those are my favorite Christmas movies- I hope you guys like this!

Bye! Merry Christmas!
