Movie Monday: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Review

Okay! So I went to the movies yesterday with my boyfriend. There are a few movies we wanted to see... but then we realized a new Ghostbusters was out and we had to see that today!

So I'm going to say this is maybe my second favorite of the Ghostbusters movies. I did like After Life- but the movie was a lot different than I expected so I was a little bit disappointed watching it in the theater. I'm not a fan of the second ghostbusters movie... that one might be my least favorite. I don't think 2016 Ghostbusters: Answer The Call is as bad as people say it is... but it is probably my second least favorite... nothing is as good as the original. While I think I kind of liked this more than Ghostbusters: After Life... I do think that there's just something about this movie that was a little bit lackluster.

I don't think any of the ghostbusters movies are bad... but it's just the same thing with different ghosts. This movie just felt like the same people busting ghosts the same way they always do... and I kind of wish there was some sort of new technology or something in this one. There sort of was... but at the end of the movie... it was kind of the same as all the other movies.

There were also too many characters in this movie and not enough for them to do. Patton Oswalt was in the movie- but I went to the bathroom and missed his whole part. (Side note: I was mad at Patton Oswalt because I had a dream that my boyfriend won an award and forgot to thank me kind of and Patton Oswalt was in the audience. It was just a dream and technically I didn't have to be mad at Patton Oswalt for anything- but I decided to go to the bathroom specifically at that point.)

There was also a ghost girl that seemed like a Love Interest for Phoebe... but they don't explicitly say that at any point in the movie... sooo it's a vague storyline that is 100% there.

In the last movie I was disappointed that Paul Rudd wasn't in it enough and that he wasn't really a ghostbuster... he's a ghostbuster in this movie... so that's good. He also seems like he's in the movie the right amount of time.

I also liked the Frozen Empire and the big bad ghost of the movie and all the other ghosty things that happened. It was entertaining- it was a little scarier than most of the ghostbusters movies... and it was fun to watch. There's nothing wrong about this movie... I just want them to change things up a little bit. It doesn't have to be major... but I think they need something a little different.

I also have to say there were a lot of kids in the audience watching this one and they were loving the movie... so I feel like this movie was for them and not for me... and I'm okay with that... it is a really fun movie to watch and I think ghostbusters fans will like it... but I want the next movie to have something different.

Okay that is everything! I hope you like this review!

Bye!
