Okay so recently I’ve really been loving movies and tv directed by David Lynch. He has a unique style and some weird stuff… but he’s really great! I’ll talk about everything I’ve seen so far!

Twin Peaks

So this is probably what David Lynch is most well known for. The Tv Show Twin Peaks- which I just finished as well as Twin Peaks: The Return. I’ve got to say I know people love The Return and sometimes they even love it more than the original… I’ve gotta say I don’t really agree with that. The return was really hard to get through. It wasn’t bad- but it barely took place in Twin Peaks… it was just kind of odd.

As a whole though I really loved Twin Peaks- it was a really fun show and even though parts of it were hard to get through- it’s a great show and kind of a cult classic for a reason!

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

This one is my favorite. This is a Laura Palmer movie and it’s a prequel to the series and it’s horrifying and amazing. I actually had trouble sleeping because I kept thinking I was in the black lodge. This just did a great job showing more about Laura Palmer. It was really really interesting. This is probably one of my favorite movies I saw this year!

The Straight Story

This is a very different movie than what David Lynch usually does- but it has a similar feel to twin peaks and some of the worlds he creates. This is a biopic about a man that traveled across the country on a lawnmower to reconnect with his brother who had had a stroke. This had the music of Angelo Badlamenti- the same composer as Twin Peaks- which really added to the feel of the story. It was very sweet and just a great story overall. It’s on Disney Plus and I think it’s worth watching for sure.

Blue Velvet

This is a great mystery with a great cast. It has a young Kyle McLaughlin and Laura Dern as well as Isabella Rossellini as a sexy older woman. The story was great for this one, the mystery was interesting, the characters were great and relatable… it was really good! Plus the music of this was great too!

Eraserhead

The last movie and most recent one that I watched is Eraserhead. This is a weird movie about a man that finds out he fathered a baby with his ex, the baby is premature and horribly deformed. I think that the movie is told from the baby’s point of view. I think that makes sense because the world is very odd and there’s no real explanation for anything. The movie is

In black and white also… which is interesting. I really liked this one. A lot of famous directors- including Mel Brooks- were really inspired by this one.

So yeah I would definitely recommend all these movies! They’re all great and I would say check them out for sure!

Bye!
