May Diaries 20: Book Haul

So I’ve bought a lot of books recently. Amazon had a sale, I went to Barnes and Noble and I preordered a book that should be coming in soon.

And the Barnes and Noble part of my haul is going to be a bit of a fail because I don’t remember exactly what I bought. It was a really odd haul though. I got one of the Disney Twisted Tales and I think I got the one about Meg becoming a Greek god.

I also got went to the sci fi section and got The Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon.

At checkout I saw a New Jersey bird guide and a New Jersey hiking trail guide. They were buy one get one half off and I want to know more about New Jersey Birds. And my boyfriend thought we could go on hikes too so get the hiking trail book.

The book I preordered was How To Become The Dark Lord and Die Trying. This sounds like a really fun and funny book- a bookseller recommended it on TikTok so I ordered it from that bookseller. I’m excited for this one I’m going to try to read it soon!

Amazon had a 50% off sale… but not everything I bought was 50% off or even on sale… so I’ll start with the other books first.

I just watched My Cousin Vinny a few days ago and found out that there are 2 continuation novels that are apparently really good about Vinny and Mona Lisa after the events of the movie. This was not on sale and it was really expensive… it was like $18- probably on Kindle Unlimited but I’m not sure. I just got the second book in the series because the first book is just a novelization of the movie and I wanted to read this before ordering the third one- especially since they’re expensive.

These books might be available through kindle unlimited but they were NO WHERE!

I also ordered Malice by John Gwynne. I like Norse Mythology and he’s like the king of Norse Mythology books. This wasn’t 50% off but it was on sale for a pretty good price I think it might have been 30-40% off so I got it because it’s usually expensive and I’m not sure I’ll like it.

I ordered Funny Story by Emily Henry. I loved her first 3 books and I haven’t read Happy Place yet- but I figured since this was a good deal I would get it.

I also got The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. I had heard her books were really good and I’ve been wanting to read her- so I figured why not start with this one. Hopefully I like it.

I’ve had a book called The First Real Kitchen Cookbook in my cart for a while and it was less than 50% off so I had to get it. It’s by the same authors as the college cooking cookbook which is a great cookbook even if you’re not in college.

Later that night I realized Home Is Where The Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose is also BRAND NEW and half off so I got it. I’m excited to read that one.

And I got Bookshops and Bonedust because I think I’m going to read Legends and Lattes soon and I want this one too. Plus it was less than $10… it was a good time to buy it.
