May Diaries 16: The Bumble Fumble

Okay… so bumble relaunched and used some billboards that are just… no. I’ll share a picture.

There’s another one that says the same thing and I don’t know if there’s a woman pictured on it too but… yeah. This just isn’t okay.

Now I didn’t use that many dating apps before I met my boyfriend. Hinge wasn’t even really a thing in New Jersey yet so I just used Bumble, Ok Cupid and somewhat as a joke Coffee Meets Bagel- which was the worst one. I realized after joining Ok Cupid… bumble wasn’t my thing. I don’t like messaging men first- and I’m just not really attracted to guys that don’t talk to me first.

And a lot of what I saw on TikTok was saying that they changed bumble so now anyone can message first… but the men still aren’t messaging first. And now they’re like shaming people into having sex when more women are choosing not to have sex right away. It’s just really out of touch and not what anyone wants when they’re looking to sign up for a dating app.

So yeah- idk. I’m glad I found my boyfriend when I did because apps today are crazy.
