May Diaries 15: Last Minute Extra Gift Idea for No Extra Money

So I got my mom her present early and I wanted to get her a card… but they were all gone at the store I work at and it’s been so busy this week I didn’t get to get her a Mother’s Day card. I did buy her birthday card already- and I thought I got her Mother’s Day card with that… but I didn’t. So I felt really bad for this but basically she bought her own Mother’s Day Card.

So I wasn’t going to let her do that and have that be it and I couldn’t really buy her anything extra because there was just no time the store was way to busy. So I thought “I’ve got index cards, I’ve got stickers, I’ve got a sticker printer and I’ve got fancy pens.” My mom likes cookbooks and recipes so I just looked up some easy recipes online and I wrote them down on the index cards and put some Bluey stickers on them and stuffed them in her card.

She had no idea I was going to do that- she saw me working late at night but I don’t think she knew I was doing that.

I saw a recipe for Millionaire’s rice krispy treats which is what I was originally going to do but then I saw they had a Biscoff Rice Krispy treat recipe and I was like “ohhh she loves biscoff spread and we always have that handy!” So I got that and I wrote it down. My original idea was to use my cannon sticker printer and print a picture of the dish on there- but I decided to just use the Bluey Stickers instead.

A while ago she saw someone make a Jollof Rice on Tamoran Hall and they didn’t have the recipe on her website- but I found another blogger that had a fairly easy recipe on her blog so I copied it down.

Next up- my mom makes a lot of Ice Cream Pies when Ice Cream is on sale so I looked up Ice Cream Pie and I found a Twix Ice Cream Pie and that sounded really good… so I chose that one.

Next my moms favorite thing: Marshmallow Fluff- there are a lot of marshmallow fluff recipes but I found a rice krispy treat marshmallow fluff recipe and said “yep. That’s brilliant.” So I chose that.

Then I added my Bluey stickers and I wanted to do more recipes, but I was starting to fall asleep… so I called it a night and went to sleep then.
