Marvel Monday: Thor

So I'm going to start my Marvel Monday's with the Thor movies- I'll break in between for some more Christmas-Related Marvel Specials and Shows- but I wanted to start with Thor because 1) There won't be another Thor Movie for a while. 2) I loved Thor Love and Thunder- but I feel like a lot of Marvel fans didn't like it... and I wanted to see if the first two Thor movies were better than the last 2. And... no so far I don't think I like this one better than the ones Taika Waititi directed.

I did overall like this movie because I really like Thor as a character and I like the side characters in this movie too. I also love Loki as a villain, and as a hero... and I think this movie shows him pretty well. What I didn't like though: it relied very heavily on Thor using his hammer in the first part of the movie and the hammer is just wayyyy too powerful. It's like not even fair to its opponents that he has this allmighty hammer that can just take everyone down. In Thor Ragnarock they get rid of the hammer... which makes things more challenging for Thor and things are a little more exciting.

Phase 1 Marvel Movies in my opinion aren't quite as exciting . I did like this better than the first Iron Man Movie... but I still didn't think it was the most exciting Marvel Movie of all. Compared to Black Panther- I didn't think this was as good as an origin story.

The other thing I want to point out... did anyone catch Jane's t shirt in the end of the movie??? It looks a lot like Miss Minutes who later appears in the Loki series.

I thought that was a pretty cool detail if they did it on purpose. I'm not the first one that spotted this- I got this image from a Reddit thread about it. And I'm not sure if it is intentional or just a coincidence as I'm not that familiar with the marvel comics and Miss Minutes as a character.

Overall this was a good origin for Thor. I didn't like it as much as the other Marvel Movies I've watched for Marvel Monday... so my ranking for the Marvel movies so far is

  1. Wakanda Forever

  2. Black Panther

  3. Thor

I'm sure it'll change a lot when I watch and rewatch these a little more and I'll include the Specials and Tv Shows separately but... this is what I think and I like these!

Bye!
