Marvel Monday: Ant Man and The Wasp Quantumania review

While I was watching the newest Marvel Movie... there was a lot I liked and a lot I didn't... but overall I thought it was a fun marvel movie and probably the best of Phase 4 so far- although overall I prefer Wakanda Forever personally... I do think it's hard to compare to Wakanda Forever. But this was entertaining and fun.

Is This The Phantom Menace?

What I liked about this was that it felt like a movie of the 2000's. My boyfriend kept comparing it to The Phantom Menace and I think that's a fair comparison. Not in a bad way- just in a "there's a lot of sand in this" and it felt like a 2000s movie... which is my favorite type of movie I think.

2 timelines

Once the family gets to The Quantum Realm- they're separated for a good chunk of the movie... I kind of wanted an adventure with the whole family together.

It also made it kind of weird because as soon as I was getting into the story with Janet, Hank and Hope- it would cut back to Scott and Cassie... and I really just wanted to know more about the war in the Quantum Realm.

The Jokes

This was probably the least funny Ant Man movie. When they did have jokes- they were kind of funny but they didn't quite land. One thing I thought was funny was the trailer line when the guy says "Thank You Spider Man" and then- later in the movie- recognizes Scott as Ant Man and then Scott has to pay for his coffee.

The Ants

I wasn't expecting Ants to be so important in the first two Ant Man Movies, but they are and I kind of enjoyed that. In this movie I wasn't that big a fan of how they were used. I don't really want to spoil it... but it just didn't fit in place with most of the movie.

Modak

Modak was great in this. I loved the reveal of who he was... he had some really funny lines... and I loved that it connected to the first Ant Man.

Scott and Hope???

Their relationship just sort of happens??? But they've also kind of just been together the whole time? I kind of love their relationship but I wish they were together in this movie a little bit more.

Alright- I think that's everything I need to say about the movie! What did you guys think? I want to go back and watch the other movies soon as well.

Bye!
