Okay… this week I don’t feel like I have as many clues as to who the killer is- but I feel like we learned a lot about the possible motive for the killer and maybe we ruled out some suspects.
So this week we got the real Oliver, Charles and Mabel working and investigating with their counterparts… Charles goes with Eugene Levy to investigate Vince Fish, Eva Longoria and Mabel go to Christmas All The Time Guys Apartment, and Zach Galifinakis and Oliver get to know each other because Oliver wants Zach to do a good job in the movie.
Vince Fish
I don’t think it’s Vince Fish. We learned that he really does have pink eye and that he just stares at Charles because he’s awkward… which Charles understands. We also get a great scene with Eugene Levy, Richard Kind and Steve Martin… who should be in more things together. They’re hilarious.
Oliver, Zach Galifinakis and Howard
So this is seemingly nothing… but Howard records the Ham Radio and writes info on it- including the perfect Strangers Theme and meet at 445- which Oliver believes is a frequency and they end up contacting someone on a ham radio that says “you shouldn’t be on this frequency. The last person that dug around got killed!” Which could be hinting that maybe Sazz was the intended target… or maybe Dudenoff is dead because he dug around too much…
And Zach was unenthusiastic at first but then Howard explained what a tragic character Oliver was and now Zach thinks Oliver is the role of a lifetime. Seeing Zach, Martin Sheen and Howard all together was great too.
Eva Longoria and Mabel and Christmas All The Time Guy
So Eva Longoria wants to play Mabel BOLD and confident- so she wants to just go to Rudy aka the Christmas Guy’s house and accuse him of being the killer to get him to confess… and he does confess… that he hates Christmas and that it was all an act for his fitness TikTok’s- he went viral so he became a Christmas Guy despite not liking Christmas. But I don’t think he’s the killer either- the tinsel at the crime scene wasn’t really tinsel- it was not flammable… which could just be the Christmas guy throwing the gang off… but I don’t think it’s him either.
So I feel like we didn’t learn that much about the killer this episode… but I feel like a couple people are on the lower end of my suspicious list… and the Ham radio was an interesting twist.
Also the clues this episode- the opening credits had an Easter egg with the chairs of the characters and the real life people that they are portraying… which was fun. This again kind of points me to the Brothers Sisters- which is what the title of the episode Two For The Road also kind of might point to? And then the closing credits are the Squatters rights in NYC google search that Mabel does before squatting in The Dudenoff Apartment and the Ham Radio… so the Ham radio must be quite important.
Those are my thoughts. Loved this episode and I can’t wait for next week!
Bye!
-Shannon
