Beetlejuice Review+NYC at Christmas

Okay- I had this whole idea planned out writing about New York at Christmas because I do genuinely love going to New York at Christmas... but this visit was just kind of different. It was so so busy and it wasn't that it's not enjoyable- but... it was weird. We did see the Tree, we had a nice cozy dinner and we shopped a little bit... but it was too busy to go to the Christmas Markets or explore too much.

Anyway- besides that- we Saw Beetlejuice! Which I was so excited to see! My boyfriend was familiar with the album and he had seen some of the scenes online so he was pretty familiar with the musical and really wanted to go see it. One of his friends is a huge Beetlejuice fan too- so that was fun to see it with a big Beetlejuice fan. No one else in our group had seen plays before- so that was fun too! This was their first play and it was a great one to see for your first play!

Overall I really liked the story more than the movie. It was a lot more heart-filled and in the movie I think my favorite characters are the Maitlands- but in this version I really loved Lydia and Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice isn't really a villain in this either- he is but... you can't help but root for him. He's not as annoying as in the movie.

If you're a fan of the movie or the cartoon show- I definitely think you'd like this...I liked it better. I think my mom would like this one better and I hope I can take her if there's a tour nearby or I'm hoping it comes out as a movie. It's just so good!

The cast was also just perfect! Lydia I think was an understudy and someone else was also... but I wouldn't change any of the main cast honestly! Delia wasn't in it a lot but she was great, Lydia's dad was really good... Beetlejuice was just so funny and the Maitlands were also fantastic!

If you can see it before it leaves broadway I would totally recommend getting tickets. I would love to see it again and I know there were some people in the audience that looked like they've seen it before.

Bye!
