I've seen the first Child's Play movie- and I haven't watched Child's Play 2... so I'm going a little out of order here with this one- but Bride of Chucky was more of what I was in the mood for after watching all these horror movies. This is more of an action comedy than a horror movie in my opinion... but Chucky and Tiffany are horror characters... so it's still a horror and a slasher... plus it is definitely still spooky.
This movie starts with Tiffany bringing her boyfriend Chucky back from the dead... and they eventually both become dolls and they end up in a Bonnie and Clyde style situation. It's pretty funny, but the characters are also really good. There aren't many kills in this movie- but the kills are pretty creative and they aren't that brutal. This is way more of a comedy than most horror movies and I really enjoyed watching it for that.
Jennifer Tilly is amazing in this movie. She totally makes the movie- in the beginning she looks absolutely gorgeous and spooky and she's hilarious and perfect... and even as the Tiffany Doll- her voice is amazing and it made the doll so lovable. I liked the first Child's Play movie- but it definitely wasn't my favorite and I didn't think it was the scariest... this one sort of goes away from it being scary at all- and it's just totally funny and really fun.
This movie's soundtrack is also amazing. I live in New Jersey so I've been to Six Flags Great Adventure's Fright Fest like a million times... and a lot of the music they use in their shows and parades are from this movie. I didn't know Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie was from this movie... I really liked the whole soundtrack- I shazamed every song- I might look to see if I can find the cd or even streaming album somewhere. They have the score on Apple Music- but not the songs.
This movie also had John Ritter in a small role and a young Katherine Heigl in one of her first starring roles- she did a great job.
This movie is rated R and it is available to stream on Peacock- along with all the other Chucky Movies I believe- or at least most of them. They also have a Chucky show that I might watch also. It is also available to own on Blu Ray, DVD, 4K, Digital- and I'm sure you can find some old vhs tape versions of this as well. It is directed by Ronny Yu.
