30 more Days of Movies: Uncle Buck

Alright since I was on a comedy kick- I saw Uncle Buck on Amazon Prime and thought that would be a good time to watch that.

This movie stars John Candy and Macully Culkin and also has an appearance from Amy Marian aka Aunt Gladys from Weapons. I thought it was funny that Unlce Buck’s girlfriend ends up being Aunt Gladys… I’m going to use that for sure when I play Cine2nerdle because that’s super funny to me.

Anyway- this is a very silly movie where the mom and dad of this family aren’t really home enough for their three kids- and while the mom finds out she has to go home to be with her dad who just had a heart attack- they have no babysitter to watch the kids. Her husband suggests his brother Buck- who doesn’t have any kids of his own, he smokes, gambles and doesn’t have a job. So… she’s skeptical- but really they have no other option.

Buck embarrasses the kids at first and he can’t use their washing machine or their dryer so he ends up handwashing all the clothes and microwaving them dry… and it’s just very funny. He cooks them strange things including a massive pile of pancakes for Macully Culkin’s birthday… and some other odd things.

Buck also isn’t afraid to fight someone in order to protect the kids and you really see him grow to love these kids.

This isn’t the funniest movie I’ve watched of the challenge… but I consider this a classic and it was really really funny. I would recommend watching it and I’d watch this again.
