30 More Days of Movies: Shelby Oaks

I watched Shelby Oaks as part of a Scream Unseen and I could have reviewed it for my blog- and if this was my favorite movie that I saw of the challenge- I would have put this as the 31st movie of the challenge... but I can't really tell why- I was a little disappointed in the movie so I didn't want the last day to be like "meh" and I do like ranking things so I wanted to do the ranking anyway.

This isn't really a bad movie by any means- I would say for sure this is a Horror Movie for Horror Movie fans. It starts out as like a found footage movie. A group of Paranormal Investigators goes to a place called Shelby Oaks and they disappear. The sister of the host of the show ends up seeing some strange and familiar things and she thinks that her sister is still out there and that she can save her.

While I think the story we see is scary- it drags on just a little bit at times. It's not bad- I just think some scenes go on a little bit long- and I'm just not really sure it added much to the ending of the movie. The ending is still chilling and it is scary and also sad... which I like, but I could have watched another hour of the movie. I want to know what happens now- and I think that might even be more interesting than the story that was told throughout the film.

I think I would have really liked this movie if it was found footage of what happened during their disappearance... I guess we do learn what happens and we see it happen but I would like a found footage.

So while I was watching the movie I was really into it and I thought it was scary but... it's kind of like when you eat something and then you're not full afterwards. I liked it- but it's not really something that I think about a lot- it's not even something I discussed with my boyfriend other than "Oh I didn't not like that movie but I don't think it was the best and I don't have anything to say about it" So... I think I need to watch it again before saying it was good or bad. Now that I know what to expect from it it might end up being a little bit better.

Bye!
