30 More Days of Movies: Planes Trains and Automobiles

Would it really be Thanksgiving without my movie being Planes, Trains and Automobiles? Especially when I’ve reviewed so many Steve Martin movies and one John Candy movie this month?
So this movie has Steve Martin as a business man named Neil- who’s trying to get home for Thanksgiving and he runs into Del- John Candy- while he steals a cab from him. Then the two sit next to each other on their plane after it gets delayed… and they just keep running into each other and they keep running into problems that further delay them from getting home.
This movie is a classic- it’s so fun to watch I’ll probably watch it again on Thanksgiving. I wish that there were more movies with John Candy and Steve Martin because they were just so funny together and it seemed like they had a lot of fun doing this movie together.
There’s so many funny moments in this movie that I could name as my favorite- and I would also probably have a different favorite part every time I watch this- my favorite part this viewing was the part where the rental car is on fire and the 2 men just watch it burn… it’s so funny.
I also love the ending of this movie- it’s very sweet and touching. It shows how important it can be to be kind to strangers- especially around the holidays. I don’t want to spoil what happens because I hadn’t seen this movie until last year or the year before… but it’s a really good ending for a great movie.
Definitely recommend checking this movie out during this holiday season. I’m sure it’s on tv today… it’s a fun watch! I just don’t know if they show the F word scene on tv… because they do say it more times than any other movie.
Bye!
