30 More Days of Movies: Phantom Thread

So this was a strong recommendation from my boyfriend. I had watched The Master from Paul Thomas Anderson- and I liked it so then my boyfriend wanted to watch a Paul Thomas Anderson movie and he found this one at his library… and he’s been wanting me to watch it ever since then!

So finally I was like “I have to just watch this movie.” It sounds kind of crazy and it was kind of crazy. This movie is paced pretty well- but it is a slow burn… but once it ends it’s kind of funny…like the ending of it just kind of made me laugh… and it’s kind of sick but kind of romantic… it’s kind of cozy but kind of hard to watch… it’s a unique movie.

I don’t want to say too much about the movie because I think it’d give the plot away. Daniel Day Lewis plays a very grumpy and particular tailor? Designer? Dress maker? And he starts dating this seemingly nice young woman… and then some things happen. She doesn’t like how grumpy she is and she doesn’t listen to him about the things he does and doesn’t like. For instance he doesn’t like Butter and she always uses butter… things like that… and he really yells at her for it.

At the end of the movie they agree on something and… I guess it ends happily… but for freaks.

I liked this movie for its uniqueness and the acting was really good. Daniel Day Lewis did a great job- the woman that played his wife was really good. Everyone was great in this and giving their all.

That’s everything! This movie is available for Streaming on Prime- or you could rent or own it on various video formats.

This movie sounded really good to me when it came out… but it was a weird indie movie I don’t think I could convince anyone to watch with me. My boyfriend knew I wanted to see it and grabbed this from
