30 More Days of Movies: Liar Liar

Another movie I've never seen but I've always wanted to. I didn't even really know the plot of this movie- I might have seen parts of it as a kid... but there was nothing really that I remember.
This movie stars Jim Carey as a lawyer named Fletcher Reed who has a young son- who he loves but he's divorced from Fletcher's mom and they don't really spend a lot of time together because Fletcher is so busy with his job. On the son's birthday- Fletcher breaks a promise that he'll be at his birthday party and Fletcher wishes that for just one day his dad won't be able to tell a lie.
As the son blows out the candles- Fletcher is asked a question... from his boss after they sleep together... and he does not lie about how he felt about it saying "I've had better" and then this keeps on happening where Fletcher simply can't lie to anyone and is far too honest with everything he does say. So really- his job as a lawyer is pretty badly affected from this.
This movie has a lot of parts that didn't age well at all... a lot of it's kind of sexist- there's a plot point where someone was in a relationship with a minor without their knowledge and they're still seen not really as a villain... but overall this movie is still really really funny. Jim Carey uses a lot of physical humor in this that just made me actually laugh out loud. This might be the funniest movie I've seen from this challenge so far.
Overall I thought this movie was fun, the cast was really great and even if some jokes and plot points would not be made today if this movie was made... it was still a fun movie!
Bye!
