30 More Days of Movies: Father of The Bride Part 1

Okay- so after watching some dramas- I thought I needed to watch another comedy and on my list on Disney Plus for forever was Father of The Bride Part 1... and Part 2 which I will talk about tomorrow.

So this is just your basic family movie where the dad loves his daughter and does not want her to get married. Plus he has some trouble trying to like the guy that she's marrying... but I think deep down... he knows the guy his daughter is marrying isn't a bad guy. In fact- he knows his wife thinks he's the perfect man for their daughter.

The movie mostly revolves around a bunch of ridiculous things happening to Steve Martin's character George as the wedding keeps getting more elaborate and expensive. And as his temper becomes a little crazier... and his daughter kind of takes after him.

This movie is kind of short and it's pretty straightforward- so I don't really have a lot to say about the movie as a whole... other than it's incredibly funny and just a nice one to watch... it especially feels good to me to watch around the holidays. I don't know that this is the funniest movie I've ever seen- but it is one that I'll definitely watch again and again. I could have this on in the backround while doing something else- I could just put it on for a laugh... I just really loved it.

So overall I highly recommend this movie. The cast is super funny too- I love Steve Martin, Diane Keaton of corse, Kimberly Williams and Kieran Culkin are great actors that it's fun to see them in something when they're younger. And Martin Short and BD Wong are both really funny in here too!
