25 Days of Romance Movies: The Princess Bride

After a few days of watching some of my favorite movies that I've seen a million times before- I thought I would watch a movie I haven't seen before- The Princess Bride! This is also directed by Rob Reiner who sadly passed away in December and I do want to watch some more of his movies to honor him... plus he has SO MANY different movies that he's directed or involved in that it is actually very fun to watch them all because they are all so very different.

Also I learned about the woman that republished this book- she was a 4 ft 1 woman named Judy Lynn del Rey who pioneered fantasy and sci fi I believe. This book had flopped when it was originally released- but she republished it and it was a hit. Interesting woman- I liked reading about her so I wanted to mention her while doing this review too.

Anyway I had never seen this movie before and I didn't know it started with Peter Falk telling Fred Savage a story about The Princess Bride and I thought that was really cool and fun. I didn't know that's why Deadpool told Fred Savage the story of Deadpool in Once Upon A Deadpool. I kind of want to watch that sometime now.

The actual story itself is very fun too. A princess falls in love with a farm boy, and then she thinks he gets killed and she gets engaged to a soon-to-be King... and she ends up getting kidnapped and then a mysterious man comes to save her... and it's her farm boy that she loved. So its a lot of people getting captured, fighting, and romance. This movie is very action heavy but also romantic- which is why I think this is such a beloved movie! It's got a little something for everyone. It's got great action scenes for action fans, very romantic for the romance fans and its being told to a child so it's got stuff for kids in it too. Over all I don't think this is my personal favorite movie- but I can see why it is so many people's favorite movies!

This is definitely a movie I will be watching again. It was really really fun and memorable. I also think I own the book- so I'll have to find that because I do want to do book and movie comparisons soon.

Bye!

I was excited to finally watch this one because I grew up seeing this around a lot but I've never actually seen it. I remember seeing some of the commercials for it on tv and I know I saw the poster f
