Okay now for one of my favorite movies- although watching it today… the plot of this movie is insane to me. Serendipity- starring Kate Beckinsale, John Cusak and co- starring John Corbett, Molly Shannon, Bridget Moynahan, Eugene Levy and Jeremy Piven (yuck).
So John Cusak’s character Jonathan and Kate Beckinsale’s character Sara meet accidentally when they both pick up the same pair of gloves. Sarah believes in fate and chance and the two of them meet again and end up having a wonderful time… and she kind of thinks it’s fate but also both of them are dating people and she thinks that there are signs that maybe they shouldn’t be together. They end up going their seperate ways after trying to leave it up to chance and he is just a few days away from getting married and she just gets engaged.
The only problem is that both of them can’t stop thinking about each other… so he tries tracking her down and she’s looking for him and they both keep missing each other… in the end will they stay with their partners or will fate lead them back together?
I saw this movie in theaters and I always think it’s such a cute and fun movie… but now as an adult I’m like “wow he’s really tracking down this woman right up until his wedding” and that’s kind of a jerk move.
Sarah’s fiance is played by John Corbett and he’s such a jerk in this movie. He plays a musician that’s sort of a Yanni/ Kenny Rodgers type. He’s really funny in this and he isn’t as big of a jerk as he was on And Just Like That and Sex and The City… but he’s a bit of a jerk.
Even in spite of that… I still loved this movie. I laughed a lot and I’m always happy when they get together!
Bye!
