25 Days of 2025 Movies: Mickey 17

I wanted to end this challenge before I rank the movies with Mickey 17 because this was my most anticipated movie of 2025 and it ended up being one I was a little bit disappointed in. I still really loved it and it’s a fun movie that makes me angry and the actors seemed to have fun with this one and it turned out really well… but in theaters I wasn’t enjoying the movie that much until Mickey 18 shows up… and even then I think maybe there were some issues with the pacing of the movie for me.

I love Bong Joon Ho as a director- some of my favorite movies are Parasite, Okja, and Mother- I’ve watched most of his other movies and I definitely will likely watch any movie he makes… but because he is my favorite Director, Robert Pattinson is my favorite actor… I’m also a pretty big fan of the side characters in this movie- I love Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Stephen Yeun and Naomi Ackie I think is an underrated actress that I love seeing in movies. I also read a little bit of the book- and I couldn’t finish it before the movie came out- but I thought it was really fun. I have a hard time picturing sci fi books so I think I’ll have a better time reading it now that I know what the world looks like but I did like what I read from it so far.

So I definitely think my expectations for this movie were a little too high and had they been a bit lower this might be one of my favorites of the year… but it was my most anticipated movie of 2025 and there were just way too many good movies out this year. I’m glad that there were a lot of surprises that definitely blew this out of the water for me… but I am also disappointed that I didn’t know myself enough to know that Sinners would be way better than this one lol.

So that is the last movie of this challenge. Tomorrow I’m going to post my rankings and then it’ll be 25 days of Romance movies!
