25 Days Of Christmas Movies: The Nightmare Before Christmas

Today I’m off of work so I put on FreeForm’s 25 Days of Christmas because I missed the 31 nights of Halloween. The Nightmare before Christmas wasn’t on my original list of movies to review for this- but I think of it as a Christmas movie and I watched the whole thing so it fits!

Anyway I’ve seen this movie a lot- I was trying to pay attention to it- but overall I’m just so impressed with the animation style of the movie. Every water detail and the smoke that they show… clay mation is really an art and it’s very beautiful and I really love Henry Sellick and Tim Burton’s style in this movie… it just looks absolutely amazing. There’s a reason why this changed a lot of the Hot Topic teens like myself.

Its also just a fun story with fun characters who are trying their best to be normal- and they all mean well but they don’t understand why people aren’t liking their Bat and Rat hats. And Jack genuinely feels awful that they messed everything up. It’s really funny and just great overall.

The songs in this movie are also very good. I would say this has one of the best Halloween songs and one of the best Christmas Songs- with This is Halloween and What’s This. What’s This feels very christmasy to me and I love the whole scene- it’s one of my favorites of the whole movie. This time I also really loved the ending scene where all the characters understand Christmas and why Jack wanted it so badly… it was really nice. And Santa forgave them for getting captured and almost ruining Christmas.

So that’s my review on Nightmare Before Christmas! Right now I’m watching Home Alone- so tomorrow will probably be my review on the Home Alone Movies.
