25 Days of Christmas Movies: The Mickey Mouse Christmas Movies

Okay- I really like watching these movies every year. If it was available anywhere I would throw Snowed in at The House of Mouse in here too... but it is not on Disney Plus.

Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas

This has 3 mini stories following Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Max and Huey, Dewey and Louie and their family. And each of the stories are different from each other- but they are all familiar Christmas stories with a fun Disney Twist.

The first one has Huey, Dewey and Louie wish it was Christmas every day- and then learning to appreciate that Christmas only comes once a year. This is a story I've also seen in an Elmo movie and in The Fairly Oddparents- this one might be my favorite version of it though.

Then we have Goofy and Max wanting to believe in Santa- but Pete tells them he's not real and Max and Goofy start to not believe in him so much... but Goofy keeps telling Max that Santa won't let him down. I love Goofy and I love that they have a story with Santa in it in this trio of stories.

Next up is Mickey and Minnie's version of The Gifts of The Magi- which I think I saw for the first time in that same Elmo movie that I had on VHS as a kid. This was a cute way to see Mickey and Minnie- so I like this story too.

I'm not sure which of these stories is my favorite- but I also appreciate the awesome song mash up at the end and Kelsey Grammar as the Narrator.

Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas

This one is 3D animation and it doesn't look as good and the stories aren't as fun... but we do see more stories from all the characters- and there's a lot of Santa in this one.

It starts with Minnie and Daisy as rival figure skaters, then we have Huey, Dewey and Louie mailing themselves to the North Pole to put their name on the nice list, we have Max bringing a girl home and wanting goofy to act cool in front of her, Then Donald is driven crazy by Jingle Bells, and then we end with a nice Mickey and Pluto story that is also at the North Pole. I actually liked this one a little bit more this year. The Huey Dewey and Louie story was my favorite. It's really funny.

Pluto's Christmas Tree

This is a cute short where Mickey chops down a Christmas Tree and brings it home and Chip and Dale are in there and they torment Pluto in the tree. This is adorable and a classic- I have ornaments of Chip and Dale from this movie.

Mickey's Christmas Carol

This one is an underrated Christmas Carol. I don't think I can say its my favorite animated Christmas Carol because I really love Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol- but there's something really fun about this one. It has all the Mickey and Friends characters- but it also has cameos like Jiminey Cricket, The Great Mouse Detective, Mr. Toad, the giant from Jack and The Beanstalk... there's a lot of fun moments.

The animation of this is also really great and I'm always really impressed with the way they make everything look and the colors. I really like the moment where Marley is going up the stairs with Scrooge and you can see his shadow but when scrooge gets suspicious he disappears. I also like the part at the end with Pete as The Ghost of Christmas Future lighting his Cigar. They can't show cartoons smoking anymore, the fire is really well animated and Pete's line "Scrooge, the richest man in the cemetery" really sticks out to me and it's haunting and beautiful. This is also a very short telling of A Christmas Carol and I think that's fun. I love when the Christmas Carols meant for kids are particularly good because that's a lot of kids first time knowing what A Christmas Carol is. It doesn't downplay the scariness but it is safe for kids to watch.

Okay that is everything! I hope you guys like this!

Bye!
