25 Days of Christmas Movies: Jingle All The Way

This is one of the earliest movies I remember seeing in theaters as a child and I feel like I saw a totally different movie than what I just watched today… but it is in fact the same movie. So for some reason I remember this movie having Arnold Schwarzenegger as the actor that plays Turboman on the show and his son didn’t know that… but that’s not what happens in the movie at all. This movie is just about a Business Man who is also a dad who needs to find his son the hottest newest toy- a Turboman action figure.

As a child I think I liked this movie so much not just because it was funny- but there are specific things in the movie for kids. Like the parade at the end has SO MANY kids characters that I loved when I was growing up. Bert and Ernie, Miss Spider,

The Cat in The Hat, Madeline… so many others. It was exciting for me to watch as an adult and it felt like

I was remembering getting excited for seeing the characters all over again.

The fashion in this movie is also a 10 out of 10. I think all men secretly want to dress the way Arnold Schwarzenegger dresses in this movie… and I understand it. He’s got a nice jacket and sort of a flannel button up shirt under it... it's very stylish and it just looks nostalgic to me. It reminds me of when people used to dress up to go to the mall. The mall in this movie is also really nostalgic- it's The Mall of America which is the biggest mall in America- I have been to the second biggest I think- the American Dream Mall. My local mall is mostly shut down and in the middle of being rebuilt- so this reminds me of that mall. Which is where I saw the movie to begin with- although the movie theater that I saw the movie in is still my local theater.

Anyway- this is just a fun Christmas comedy that I think all parents can relate to. I am not a parent- but I know my parents have had a hard time finding me some Christmas gifts before too. Arnold and Sinbad play really well off of each other and they're both really good actors. A lot of aspects of this movie are unrealistic and I think if this was just a movie made for adults it would be weird... but it was meant for adults to watch with their kids- and for everyone to have fun with it.

To me this isn't really a must watch every year- but I will watch it and I have the past 3 years I think.

Bye!

25 Days of Christmas Movies: Spirited and Scrooged

Today I have 2 slightly modern retellings of A Christmas Carol. Both of these movies I saw for the first time last year too- and I’ll probably continue to watch them every year. Spirited Spirited show
