25 Days of Christmas Movies: Home Alone 1& 2

I was home from work yesterday so I got to watch the Freeform 25 Days of Christmas which I love. And they showed both Home Alone Movies which I also love!

Home Alone

I prefer Home Alone 2 - so typically I only watch this movie once during the season and then I watch Home Alone 2 basically every day until sometime in January. There are so many jokes that I love in Home Alone that I forgot about completely and this viewing I really liked them.

I really love John Candy’s whole part in this movie. He’s just so funny and it’s such a perfect role for him.

I also really liked the opening when we first meet Harry at the McAlister house dresssed as a cop confused by all the kids and none of the parents. It’s all just really funny.

Plus this was the first time we see all the gags used and it’s really funny. The second movie is a little funnier and I prefer the setting of New York and the Plaza and the Pigeon Lady more than the McAlister House and the man with the shovel from the first movie… but it is nice to see the story with the man and to see Kevin at his house. Overall this is a great movie and I should watch it more.

Home Alone 2 : Lost in New York

So this is one of my favorite movies ever and it cracks me up every time I watch it… and I watch it like every day.

My favorite part is definitely when the hotel staff chases Kevin and he leaves the hotel- but uses the Angels with Filthy Souls movie to make the hotel staff think there’s an adult with him. He used the part where the mobster says “you were smooching with my brother” and Tim Curry’s reaction is just so so funny. I need to watch this movie again just because that’s so good!

Rob Schnieder is also really funny in this and I like his bit where he’s looking for a tip and the McAlister kids don’t give him any.

And I think it’s funny how beat up the Sticky Bandits get during this one. They’re really funny and so stupid in this. And I’m glad the pigeon lady’s pigeons also help get their revenge! Really funny ending overall.

So I was really happy with my first time watching Home Alone and Home Alone 2… im sure I’ll watch the second one at least 20 more times this year.
