25 Days of Christmas Movies: Ernest Saves Christmas

This is a movie I owned on VHS as a kid- and I don’t remember if I ever actually watched it or not… but I remember my mom telling me how funny the Ernest movies were and I really wanted to watch this one. It was also cool for me when I was little because it was the first time I heard of someone saving Christmas.

Especially a regular person.

Watching the movie actually though… I didn’t not enjoy it but the plot as a Christmas movie is a little bit weak and I don’t think they really gave it their alll as an Ernest Movie. It still had the bits that every Ernest movie has, Vern, Ernest dressing as his mom… but it just felt like it was missing something.

This movie is about Santa visiting Orlando because he’s older and he wants to retire and he knows an actor there that he thinks would be a good Santa so that he can retire this Christmas.

Ernest meets Santa and knows it’s him right away and he helps break Santa out of jail when people think he’s crazy… it’s not the best Santa story but I do like the Santa in the movie and I like Ernest of course but… it’s just not my favorite Ernest movie. Or Santa movie.
