25 Days of Christmas Movies: Christmas With The Kranks

This is another movie I don’t watch every year- but maybe I should. It’s a little bit weird but it’s funny and it’s cozy and I’ve seen it enough times that I can watch it without having to pay too much attention to it… which I enjoy sometimes.

Anyway this is a movie where Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen play parents that are suddenly empty nesters dealing with the fact that their only daughter won’t be coming home for Christmas. And the town that they live in is a little bit obsessed with Christmas and this family is very much part of the obsession. They have a Christmas Eve party every year for everyone in the neighborhood and they have a special honey ham that the daughter really loves.

And of course- because they’re so upset that they won’t have their daughter home- they decide to skip Christmas and go on a cruise instead. They don’t put out any decorations- they aren’t going to give presents or get any presents from anyone- They just want to skip it entirely and go on their cruise… and then of corse right before they go- they find out their daughter is coming home and just wants to celebrate Christmas with her family.

This is a funny movie and Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen are great together. We also get a lot of good cameos and all the neighbors are really funny too. Overall this is just a cute movie and it’s a fun one to watch!
