Where I Bought my Alice Oseman Books

Okay- so I had heard a lot about the Heartstopper books and the Netflix series and I picked up the first one… which ends on a cliffhanger… and then I thought “oh okay, now that I’ve finished that- I’ll just go to Barnes and Noble and buy the rest of the series. They were there just the other day- but I didn’t want to pick them up because I wanted to read the first one first.

Sold Out…everywhere!!! I had literally seen several copies when the netflix series had just started… and then NOTHING at any bookstore. Amazon was sold out, Thriftbooks was sold out, none of my local bookstores had any in stock. The only place I could order them from was Second Flight Books- which is an indie bookstore I found on Tiktok. It only took a few weeks to sell- plus I got a nice bookmark and some stickers and a cute letter from Laura- the owner of Second Flight Books. I believe her TikTok is bookendbyowls but I think you can also find her if you look for Laura from Second Flight Books. i think she has both a link for bookshop.org and her own online store- so that’s really cool.

I also wanted to get her other books… and they’re hard to find in the US with the cute aesthetic covers… so I ordered them from a UK website called Waterstones- the shipping was kind of expensive for this… but I wanted to make sure I got these and I thought I like treat myself… so I did! I got Solitaire, This Winter, Nick and Charlie, and Radio Silence. I had already gotten Loveless from Barnes and Noble and Born For This comes out in the US on October 18th- which is just 2 days after my birthday so… I’ll just get it then… I might preorder it before cause it might be hard to find… but it’s something I’d rather read around my birthday!

Overall- check all small bookstores- they’ve been getting the copies in. I’ve seen Volume 4 at Barnes and Noble several times… and it is published by Scholastic- which means they shouldn‘t be too behind on restocks. They’re a little bit more readily available now.

Also the later volumes may be more triggering than the first volume- and I think you could totally just stop at the first 2 or 3 books if the fourth book is something that would make you uncomfortable. I am excited to read all of these books and the treasure hunt to get them all was even more fun!
