Shannon’s Review: Maison Ikkoku Volume 1

Today's quick review is going to be a review on the first Manga I've read since high school and that is a romance called Maison Ikkoku. At first I wasn't sure what to think of the characters- and the romance seemed a little bit one sided to me... however it quickly picked up and it was such a cute, fast read. I did really like the characters- especially the two main characters. It follows a down on his luck young man trying to get into college and the new manager of the building he lives in- the Maison Ikkoku. The manager is young and beautiful- but she doesn't want a relationship with anyone because she has a sad secret... and I don't know if me saying any more is a spoiler or not- so I'll just leave it at that.

This was published in the 80s and was recently rereleased in an anniversary collection. I really love the style of all the characaters and the design in general is just really good. I would definitely recommend!
