Alright this might be a new thing that I do: there's been some news from the week and I'm going to talk about it a little. I might not do the most important stories of the week but...anything I have something to say- I'll say it. Some of it might be reality tv recaps lol 😂

Aubrey Plaza to Join Disney+ Marvel show: Agatha: Coven of Chaos

I'm kind of excited about the Agatha show! I haven't been keeping up on the Marvel and Star Wars shows... or the other Disney+ shows I like... but Wandavision was my favorite and I'm excited to see Aubrey Plaza alongside Kathryn Hahn. I haven't really seen Aubrey Plaza in anything since Parks and Rec and I miss her grumpiness. I did see the Grumpy Cat movie she was in.

Anyway this should be good! I'm excited

Other Disney+ News

I didn't see much news about this but I read that there was supposed to be another 101 Dalmatians movie with the cast of the original live action- including Glen Close.

There are also new trailers for the Enchanted sequel Disenchanted- which to me looks similar to Into the Woods and a trailer for The Santa Clauses... which I haven't watched yet was also released. I'm excited about that one!

Also I'm a Dancing with The Stars Fan and I was upset that Jordin Sparks was eliminated this week. I don't think she's the best dancer but she is quite good and I really like the pro that she is with- Brandon. The bottom two were her and Heidi and Heidi was saved by Len... which is fair I think she's been a better dancer overall throughout the competition. Heidi is Heidi D'amelio from The D'amelio show... also of course she's Charlie's mom and Charlie is doing fantastic. I kinda wish Charlie had a little more personality but she is definitely one of the best dancers- possibly the best dancer. I'm thinking it'll be her, Wayne Brady and Gabby Windey in the finale. Vinny is by far the worst dancer though but fans votes count and they want him to stay so... it's fun watching him improve and try.

Speaking of Gabby Windey: Bachelor Nation News

Alright guys- I am a bachelor nation fan and EVERYONE GOT MARRIED THIS WEEKEND. Madison Prewitt married her fiancé Garret Trout... or something like that... uhhh she wore a veil that said Worth The Wait because she was saving her virginity for marriage... that veil is a choice... but... yeah.

Also Astrid and Kevin got married! Their wedding had been delayed a very long time because of Covid and they also had a baby and... I love Kevin and Astrid. They met on the first season of Bachelor in Paradise that I watched and I'm very happy for them.

Also Grocery Store Joe and Serena P got married. They also met on Bachelor in Paradise.

Also it seems like Gabby and Erich may have broken up but... I'm guessing she can't say it while she's on Dancing With The Stars- or she might not want to say it because she'll lose votes that way... but she said they are "supporting each other from a distance" and "focusing on their own interests." I thought they broke up but that statement didn't quite sound like a breakup to me... idk.

Everything about John Astin: The Original Gomez Addams

Okay so this is not news- this is just information that I found out about John Astin because my mom thought he was Skylar Astin's dad or grandad and...he's a fasinating man.

So he is 96 and is the adoptive father of Sam Astin who you may know from the Lord of The Rings. Though he is not Sam Astin's biological father- when he married Sam's mother Patty Duke Sam ran up to John and said "Daddy" and then the priest says "that just about does it" so he adopted Sam and after he divorced Patty Duke they were still close.

Also Sam Astin thought another man was his biological father and then he found out years later it was someone else... and he is also close with the man his mom married after John Astin so he's got a bit of a Mamma Mia situation where he has 4 dads. And he's happy with it... according to IMDB or Wikipedia or wherever we learned this info.

Also John Astin is 96- he still looks exactly the same and he STILL teaches acting... like he's a professor at a university. It's nice to just recognize celebrities- especiallly legendary ones from classic TV- while they are still with us. If I get on a tangent like this- I will include it in these news recaps lol.

In Memorium

So yes I am recognizing celebrities that are still with us but I'm going to recognize celebrities that have recently passed also.

Leslie Jordan... my favorite TV comedic character actor of all time possibly... passed away in a car accident. He was BELOVED for his hillarious roles on Will and Grace and several seasons of American Horror Story. Many of his costars and friends have posted tributes. Cheyenne Jackson who was his costar on Call Me Cat dressed up as The Mandalorian holding Baby Yoda as a tribute because Jordan's character was baby yoda for Halloween on the show. There were so many sweet tributes on my feed I was tearing up.

Also Julie Powell who wrote the book Julie and Julia- which was one of the books that inspired the movie of the same title passed away at the age of 49. She wrote a second book that was also an autobiography and was... graphic and sexual... about an affair she had on her husband. It actually also sounds like an interesting very DIFFERENT read. I love the movie Julie and Julia... I get that really anyone can cook through a cookbook and write about it... but as a blogger myself I appreciated it and I was happy for her success with it. It's very sad and shocking to hear of her passing. Her success is part of why I did daily blogs for so long.

Some TV Reviews

So I've already talked about Reality TV but some other tv shows that I watched so that we don't have to end on a sad note...

I'll start with American Horror Story: NYC and it's... good. If you're looking for a crime drama- this is pretty good... it's not really a Horror Story- I think that it was maybe supposed to be an American Crime Story but... they changed it. But... 1984 and Double Feature were not great and this is pretty good in comparison. The acting is pretty good and the story is interesting. It's not bad... the first 30ish minutes of the first episode are chaotic and it's hard to tell what's going on some of the time... but my review is so far it's not bad.

What I'm actually impressed by: Atlanta's episode The Goof Who Sat By The Door. So this didn't follow our Atlanta gang- but it was a documentary they may have watched about how A Goofy Movie got made in the Atlanta universe... and it's the best episode this season by far. There was a Goof that sat by the door in an episode last season too... so that is a good connection... but this was so funny and also just an interesting documentary... even though it was fake... this was such a good episode this is how A Goofy Movie got made in my head and in my heart now.

Okay- I hope you guys like this post- I'd like to do some more of these!

Bye!

-Shannon
