My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 Trailer Reaction

Okay so today I woke up and my boyfriend told me "get up- we have a mission" and apparently the trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 was going to be on The Today Show.

If you guys don't know- the original is one of my favorite movies- I used to know every line (not sure if I still do) and I am Greek so it's a good representation of a Greek family in my opinion. The second movie I haven't seen as much- but I still thought it was really funny and it was out right before my sister's wedding so I think that made it funnier.

This movie takes place after Gus passes away- which is very sad because Michael Constantine recently passed away as well as Nia Vardalos's actual father who was the inspiration (and he played the Cantor who married Toula and Ian in the first movie). The family goes to Greece to find Gus's friends.

So the best lines of the trailer come from Aunt Voula- who kind of seems to be the main supporting character in Gus's absence. Maria doesn't seem to be in the trailer a lot, and Nikki and Angelo don't join the family in Greece till later. I really liked her line "Greek Voodoo" although I don't think we know the whole context of that- I also liked the line "I am surprised, but I am not surprised because I am never surprised." That's something I think every Greek woman has said in her life at some point. At least once.

Ian also had a funny moment where he was asked to pick out a chicken for the family to eat for dinner- but of corse Ian is a vegetarian so he can't pick the chicken out. That was funny.

Over all I'm excited for this. It looked funny- but it will also be very sad. I'm glad this is actually directed by Nia Vardalos also so it might feel more authentic and I know she probably put her heart into it... and I'm sure this story is much more personal for her... so I'm excited to see it. And I want to see a poster for it!!!

Bye!
