What a weird title... but there are just some movies I didn't get a chance to review yet even though I've wanted to.
X
This movie just came out this year and it is a slasher movie that takes place on the set of a 1980s x rated movie set. There's not a lot of character development in this movie in particular- but there was recently a prequel announced- Pearl- about the main villain of the movie and a sequel- Maxxxine- announced about our final girl of the movie.
I didn't dislike this movie... but I think I'll like it better after seeing Pearl. Pearl I've heard has a lot of character development and it's been compared to Joker... so I'm excited to see that one. I thought Mia Goth did a good job in this and I will hopefully see the sequel this week.
Orphan
I've seen this movie before- but I did recently re-watch it to prepare for the sequel... which I haven't seen yet- but I probably will sometime soon. I like this movie... it's good acting- it's got a fun twist at the end and it's a bit of a lighter slasher/ thriller movie. There aren't many kills in the movie but it's still pretty scary. Once you know the ending to this I feel like it's harder to re-watch and I'm wondering how that will affect the sequel.
There's a surprisingly graphic sex scene in this movie... and there's no need for it. It's pretty weird.
Oldboy
Uhhh I watched this movie quite a while ago... actually I think it might have been last year... but either way it's... a good movie- but it is very disturbing. It's hard to find the original Korean version and my boyfriend and I thought we saw it at a Barnes And Noble... and then we tried looking for it online and we never saw it... and then we bought the three movies in the vengeance trilogy and then later we found two of them in a thrift store... but they don't play on my Blu ray player so yeah.
Anyway I think this counts as a thriller? It's very disturbing and I know people are uncomfortable watching the end... which makes sense.
Don't watch the Spike Lee version if you haven't seen this one first.
I think that's everything. I may go back and watch X after I see Pearl and do another review of this but... yeah. That's it.
Bye!
