Hellraiser (original) Review

Alright I have another horror movie to review... I'm your foolllll... get it cause that's a Foo Fighters song and I just reviewed Studio 666 yesterday?

Anyway this movie is one I wasn't really interested in- but my boyfriend and I are both really big fans of The Matrix- which we watched last year- and he started watching Sense8 after that which is also by the Wachowski Sisters... and there's an actress in Sense8 that is playing the new Pinhead in the new Hellraiser movie that just came out. So... he watched the original movie and then watched it a second time with me... and I have to say I really liked it! It wasn't at all what I expected- but the world of the movie was pretty scary and all the plots of the story fit together nicely- like a puzzle... which is fitting because there's a puzzle in the movie!

This movie is mostly about addictions and how they can take over your life... and Pinhead is kind of the best part of the movie... and he's barely in it... but the plot is just kind of cool and it looks kind of cheesey and I like that.

So... basically our main villain is missing after meeting with these demon- like creatures (including pinhead) and he's kind of dead... and then his brother and sister in law move to the house he died in I guess (sorry it's been a week I forget a bit) and he tells the sister in law that any time she kills someone he gets more alive... also he had an affair with the sister in law...

So she keeps luring men in and killing them and then the brother in law gets stronger. It's... kind of interesting. Then his niece gets involved and discovers the puzzle that summons the demons and... she makes a good final girl so I liked seeing that.

I feel like my description of this movie is all over the place but overall I really enjoyed watching it and I probably will watch the sequel. I don't think I'll watch all the sequels cause I know they all kind of suck and one of them was made just to distract from Harvey Weinstein... but yeah uhhh this movie was pretty fun to watch and I'm excited to watch the sequel and the new one.

Bye!

-Shannon
