Poor Things Review: Best Frankenstein Movie Ever?

So while my boyfriend and I were seeing Wonka- the showing of Poor Things got out around the same time. And we had wanted to see it anyway- but people were so excited and impressed by it that we were like "yeah let's see this tomorrow!"

So we did go the next day and it wasn't a full theater... but it was still a good audience and you could tell everyone really liked the movie.

So the movie first follows Bella- who is like a Frankenstein like creature without giving too much away- And she's a baby at the beginning. She doesn't know how to walk properly, she talks like a toddler and doesn't have much understanding of things. When she starts to mature a little bit she ends up going on an adventure with a man that she just wants to have fun with... and then a lot happens from Bella being in the real world.

I think the ship part was my least favorite part of the movie and my favorites were at the beginning, when she was in Paris and at the very end of the movie. This movie has kind of a sweet ending. I feel like there were a lot of movies in 2023 that just became very violent towards the end... this one seemed like it was going to but it really didn't and I actually thought the ending was perfect.

Bella is definitely one of the most iconic characters ever and I think Emma Stone deserves a second Oscar win because of that.

Bye!
