5 Things I’ve Learned Recently: Pop Culture Edition

Okay these are some things I've learned- some of which I learned on TikTok... and these are all true.

1)Minnie Ripperton's song Lovin You was written about her daughter. Which is cute but it's even cuter because her daughter is MAYA RUDOLPH! I told my mom that and she said "aww that makes me like them both better."

2) a TikToker named Fatou has a really great series called Fa2000's and her episode on Napoleon Dynamite is INSANE and interesting! My favorite thing I learned was that the town was so small everyone pitched in. A lot of the furniture was just in people's storage units, Uncle Rico's Car was someone's... they just started calling numbers to see if anyone had a Cow they could use for the movie. This whole production and success of this movie was INSANE.

3) If you remember the Clasky Csupo McDonald's Cartoons that were straight to video and sold at McDonald's- Ronald McDonald's dog Sundae in the live action portion of the show was the actor Verne Troyer- best known for playing Mini Me in Austin Powers in a dog costume.

4) I think I've talked about John Astin and Sean Astin before- but Sean Astin recently starred as Scrooge in an audio version of A Christmas Carol- which he took because his father John Astin (known for playing Gomez on The Addam's Family) played Scrooge and caught Pnemonia while playing Scrooge.

5) In season 5 of Frasier- Roz finds out that she's pregnant. I just assumed the unplanned pregnancy of Roz was to cover a real pregnancy by Roz's actress- but she was not pregnant while on the show. She had her babies via surrogate after the show ended if I'm not mistaken. Jane Leeves pregnancy in real life was explained by Daphne gaining weight because she felt pressured to be perfect for Niles after they got together.

Alright those are my top 5 entertainment and pop culture facts for the day!

Bye!
