25 Days of Romance Movies: Eternity

Okay- I realized after writing my last post and going to rank the movies: There were only 24 romance movies I watched. So I decided to watch Eternity starring Elizabeth Olson, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner. This is a movie about the afterlife and where we choose to spend our eternities.

The movie starts with Miles Teller’s character Larry dying while at a family event and seeing pictures of his wife Joan with her first husband Luke who died in the Korean War. His wife Joan was also fighting cancer and she was towards the end of her life. The two were planning a vacation I believe too? I missed some of the beginning because I was organizing my brooches at the time- so I rewound a few times. Larry and Joan argue a lot in the movie but they argue the way that two people that really love each other argue. It was sweet and realistic.

Larry is about to go to his Eternity but then he sees Joan arrive in the afterlife and he decides not to go and to go wherever Joan is going. Joan then sees Luke, who’s a bartender and he’s been waiting for her since he got to the Afterlife. So she has to choose between The Love of Her Life who she never got the chance to see her life with- or her husband. This is kind of how everyone describes the two in the movie also so that’s just how it is.

This movie is really funny and also really sweet. I loved the cast, they all had great chemistry. Davine Joy Randolph is just so fun to watch in everything that she’s in.

This movie had me laughing and crying and I’ll probably watch it again.

Okay so some time in the near future- I will definitely write my ranking.
